The Puget-Lakes error has been a consistent annoyance for Black Ops 6 players, so here’s how to fix it.

After Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 officially launched, developer Treyarch began to release more updates. These updates have fixed some annoying bugs, but they haven't arrived consequence-free. Instead, errors have begun to pop up as a result of the updates, making it so many players can't log in to the game. One of the more common errors Black Ops 6 players have seen is called "Puget-Lakes."

To see how you can fix the Puget-Lakes error and what causes it, check out the guide below.

From what we can tell, the Puget-Lakes error is strictly the result of your game not being fully up to date. Or, more commonly, the game does not recognize that you've downloaded the latest update, which makes it think that you're trying to access an old version. This makes it so you can't connect to online services and play any game mode in Black Ops 6.

During the early days of Black Ops 6, players have experienced some strange occurrences with updates. For whatever reason, when an update is launched, players can be kicked out of their current matches in multiplayer and Zombies. These can be regular patch updates or "update requires restart" updates.

With the Puget-Lakes error, players were kicked out of their games, given the error message, and when they restarted their application, the error still persisted. Obviously, this isn't what anyone wants to see, so let's figure out how to fix it.

How to fix Puget-Lakes error in Black Ops 6

At the moment, the only known way to get past the Puget-Lakes error is to continually try to update your game. If you don't know whether you've updated to the latest version or not, exit out of Black Ops 6 and check for an update. On PlayStation and Xbox, you can do this by selecting the application from the home screen.

On PC, the method differs from platform to platform. However, in most cases, force closing the program you bought Black Ops 6 on (Steam, Battle.Net, Game Pass) and re-opening it should trigger any new update to start downloading.

If you've already checked for an update and you're fully up to date but still seeing the Puget-Lakes error, you simply have to wait. The game simply hasn't recognized that you've updated your version and you need to wait for it to do so.

While that might not be the answer some were looking for, it's all we have regarding Puget-Lakes at the current time. Hopefully, Treyarch will manage to solve the update issues in the future with Black Ops 6.
