The launch map for Black Ops 7 Zombies is a massive Tranzit remake.
Zombies is returning in full force in Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and we got to see a small peek at what Treyarch has been cooking up at the Gamescom reveal. While we'll have to wait until the COD Next event to see exactly what Zombies has in store, it's safe to say that the developers are aiming to deliver one of the best undead experiences ever.
The main point of emphasis for Black Ops 7 Zombies at the Gamescom reveal was the map and the characters. The launch map for Zombies is set to bring players back to Tranzit from Black Ops 2, but in a much larger way. As for the characters, the quartet of Richtofen, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo is back, and you can play as them on the Tranzit-inspired map.
Below, you can see everything we currently know about Black Ops 7 Zombies.
Black Ops 7 Zombies map is set to be the largest in franchise history

Let's begin with the map, which is inspired by Black Ops 2's Tranzit, but features a slew of differences that make it unique. For starters, Treyarch has called the new map the largest the franchise has ever seen in terms of sheer size. This is sure to please the crowd that didn't enjoy the hectic nature of the Black Ops 6 Zombies maps, especially Liberty Falls.
While the map looks like Tranzit, it all takes place in the Dark Aether. This gives the map more of a dark aesthetic overall, with the sky featuring shades of pink and purple.
This map is set to be the only launch option in Zombies, which is a change of pace from Black Ops 6, where we saw two maps available at launch. However, Treyarch did state that more round-based maps are coming post-launch. There will also be survival maps released that take place in specific locations around the Tranzit-inspired map, as well as other locations from post-launch maps. These smaller survival maps won't count as round-based maps, though, so they don't take the place of any post-launch additions on that front.
Going back to the size of the new map, we got to see a brief layout of how it will look. The map seems to be broken up into eight sections, and you can travel back and forth between those sections using a new "Wonder Vehicle." This Wonder Vehicle appears to be a kitted-out SUV that is supposed to act as the Tranzit bus from the original map. As evident from the name, the Wonder Vehicle is likely going to be something that players have to craft themselves throughout a match, similar to how a Wonder Weapon works.
That's all we got to see from the new Tranzit-inspired map in Black Ops 7 zombies. However, Treyarch confirmed that we'll see gameplay on the map when COD Next starts on Sept. 30.

Original four characters return in Black Ops 7 Zombies

The other major talking point for Zombies from the Gamescom reveal was the return of the original four characters: Richtofen, Dempsey, Nikolai, and Takeo. We got to see some screenshots of the four characters, but we didn't hear a ton of details about how they play into the story of Black Ops 7 Zombies.
However, it was confirmed that the four characters will be playable in the mode, so we'll get to hear their iconic voices once again. Treyarch also stated that the main Easter Egg quests will return in the mode, along with Directed Mode for fans who want a helping hand when completing the quests.
That's all we have on Black Ops 7 Zombies for now. Plenty of additional details will be revealed when COD Next arrives in late September.
