Here’s the only class you should be using in Ranked.
In Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Ranked Play, you'll be forced to follow the same ruleset as the pros in the Call of Duty League. While this is great for fans of competitive who have already been following that ruleset in private matches, it might be a slight shock for newer Ranked players. You'll be limited in just about everything, from the weapons you can use to the perks you're allowed to equip. Luckily, we're here to help and give you the perfect class for Ranked Play in Black Ops 7.
Best class for Ranked Play in Black Ops 7
A class in Ranked Play consists of a primary weapon, secondary weapon, Field Upgrade, lethal/tactical equipment, perks, and a Wild Card. You have to equip an option in all of these slots, but the competitive ruleset limits many of the choices that are available in regular multiplayer. You'll also notice that many attachments on weapons are restricted as well, as some can provide an unfair advantage in competitive.
Before you start throwing random choices in all of these slots in Ranked Play, you'll want to take a look below to see the right options for your entire class:
Primary Weapons

However, you also have the option to use a sniper, like the VS Recon, in Ranked as well as several other ARs and SMGs. For the most part, though, you'll see the Dravec or the M15 in just about every match of Ranked. Other weapon categories, such as shotguns and LMGs, are fully restricted in Ranked Play. Also, sniper rifles are only usable in Search and Destroy.
Secondary Weapon
If you want to be as successful as possible in Ranked Play, you want to equip the Jager 45 as your secondary pistol. This is the best pistol for any situation in competitive play, as it can take on primary weapons at closer ranges. While you still don't want to equip it too often, the Jager 45 is much more useful than any other pistol.

Wild Card and Perks
Next up for your Ranked Play class, you can choose your Wild Card and perks. The only Wild Card you'll have access to in Ranked is Perk Greed, which gives you a fourth perk to select. Gunfighter is restricted, and all the other Wild Cards aren't useful.
With Perk Greed, you have four perks to choose from, and here are the ones we recommend:
- Perk 1: Ninja
- Perk 2: Tech Mask / Fast Hands
- Perk 3: Dexterity
- Perk 4: Flak Jacket
Equipment and Field Upgrade
Finally, you can select your Field Upgrade and lethal/tactical equipment. You don't really have many options for these slots, but here's what you should use anyway:
- Field Upgrade: Trophy System
- Lethal Equipment: Frag Grenade/Semtex Grenade
- Tactical Equipment: Stun Grenade
Overclocks aren't allowed in Ranked Play, so you'll have to use your equipment in its base form.
And that does it for the entire class you should be using in Black Ops 7 Ranked Play. There might be some slight changes in the future depending on what the developers allow or restrict, but this is the best class for now in Season 2.
