What should you spend your Permanent Unlock Tokens on after Prestiging?
The classic Prestige system has returned to Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 after being reintroduced last year in BO6. This means there are 10 new Prestige Icons to earn, along with a host of other exclusive rewards that you can unlock by going through the different Prestiges. However, one Prestige reward in Black Ops 7isn't a weapon blueprint or cosmetic, but instead a Permanent Unlock Token.
These Permanent Unlock Tokens can be used to unlock an item permanently on your account, meaning you'll still have access to it even after you enter a new Prestige. While this is great for any players who Prestige, it also presents a small problem. How do you know what to use your Permanent Unlock Tokens on in Black Ops 7?
We have the answers for you below.
Five best items to use Permanent Unlock Tokens on in Black Ops 7
Naturally, it makes sense to use Permanent Unlock Tokens on items that are unlocked late into the level grind in Black Ops 7. However, you can also use your tokens on overpowered items that you want access to immediately every Prestige so you don't have to wait to start using them.
Below, you can see our picks for the best items to use your Permanent Unlock Tokens on. We'll list five items, and all of them are spread out across the different areas of Black Ops 7 multiplayer.
Ninja (unlocked at level 53)

Ninja is an Enforcer Perk that's in the second perk slot in Black Ops 7. It's unlocked at the staggeringly high level of 53, meaning without a Permanent Unlock Token, you'll only ever get to use Ninja for 10 or so matches during every Prestige.
As a perk, Ninja is a mainstay for most Call of Duty players. It silences your footsteps so you can't be heard nearly as easily by the enemy team and also allows you to hear enemy footsteps better since you can't hear your own anymore. Overall, Ninja is arguably the best item to use a Permanent Unlock Token thanks to its usefulness, but also the high level at which you unlock it in Black Ops 7.
MPC-25 (unlocked at level 55)

Next up, we have the last item you unlock in Black Ops 7: the MPC-25 submachine gun. If you played either Black Ops 2 or 3, you'll immediately recognize the MPC-25 as the MSMC, one of the most dominant and popular weapons of all time in COD.
In Black Ops 7, the MPC-25 is a strong weapon that you'll want to use to go for high kill games. However, with it being unlocked at level 55, you'll almost never get to equip and rank it up without using a Permanent Unlock Token.
Active Camo (unlocked at level 51)

Active Camo has returned after a 10-year hiatus, but in Black Ops 7, it's a Field Upgrade. It's the last Field Upgrade you unlock in multiplayer, which is a real shame given how incredible it is. Active Camo turns your character nearly completely invisible for a brief duration, and you can apply some Overclocks to it to make this invisibility even stronger.
While other Field Upgrades still have practical use, none are more enjoyable to use than Active Camo. With it being unlocked at level 51, it's well worth a Permanent Unlock Token once you've entered a couple of Prestiges.
HARP (unlocked at level 47)

A level 47 unlock usually wouldn't warrant an early Permanent Unlock Token, but not all items are the HARP. The HARP is an extremely powerful scorestreak in Black Ops 7, as it's an amped-up UAV that shows enemy directions on the mini-map in real time. This can completely turn the tide of a match and lead you to earning your high-tier scorestreaks, such as the Legion. It's also great for Nuke runs and earning massive amounts of XP, which can help you level up even quicker.
The HARP shouldn't be your first Permanent Unlock Token, but it's an unlock you'll want sooner rather than later.
Specialist (unlocked at level 53)

Finally, our fifth and final item to use a Permanent Unlock Token on is the Specialist Wildcard. At long last, Specialist has returned to Call of Duty. This Wildcard makes it so you earn perks in place of scorestreaks when you chain together kills in the same life. You can customize which perks you unlock first, but after a certain kill streak, you earn every perk in the game (aside from Tac Sprinter, if you prefer).
While Specialist isn't as exciting as getting a scorestreak like the VTOL Warship or the Legion, it allows you to turn into a super soldier. Of course, it does require you to use up your valuable Wildcard slot, so make sure you really want Specialist before using a Permanent Unlock Token on it.
And with that, you now have five incredibly useful items that you should permanently unlock in Black Ops 7. Beyond these items, it's up to your personal playstyle, so unlock items that appeal to you and don't worry about what level they're unlocked at or what everyone else is unlocking.
