The Model L is currently the best assault rifle in Black Ops 6, so let’s craft a proper loadout for it.
One of the best parts about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer is the selection of weapons. Each one feels unique, and a majority of them are extremely powerful in one way or the other. If most players were to pick the best weapon in Black Ops 6, though, they would likely say the Model L assault rifle.
The Model L is easily one of, if not the strongest weapon in multiplayer out of the gate. It has the potential to three-shot-kill enemies while possessing a decent fire rate and virtually no recoil. Still, to get the most out of the Model L in Black Ops 6, you need to equip it with its strongest attachments and best overall loadout.
How to unlock the Model L in Black Ops 6
The Model L is a later unlock as you're progressing through the Prestige system, becoming available at level 40. Once you have hit first Prestige, you can choose to use a Prestige Token on the Model L to permanently unlock it, but there are some stronger options for that first token that we've previously gone over.
Regardless, once you reach level 40, you can equip the Model L by going to your loadouts menu, choosing the assault rifle category, and then selecting the Model L. To start, you won't have any attachments unlocked for the weapon, but that will change as you level it up in multiplayer or Zombies.
Attachments for the best Model L loadout in Black Ops 6
After you have leveled up the Model L a bit, you can go about equipping the best overall attachments for the AR, which are viewable below:
- Optic: Kepler Microflex
- Muzzle: Ported Compensator
- Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
- Underbarrel: Ranger Foregrip
- Rear Grip: Commando Grip
There's a reason we chose this weapon as the strongest assault rifle in Black Ops 6. This loadout for the Model L makes it even deadlier at all ranges, which is a scary sight for the opposition. To start, we have the Ported Compensator equipped to give the Model L superior recoil control. Then, the Reinforced Barrel provides extra bullet velocity and damage range.
Moving on, the Ranger Foregrip provides both accuracy and mobility boosts while the Commando Grip improves aim down sight and sprint to fire speeds. Finally, we've chosen the Kepler Microflex as our optic of choice, but you're free to use whatever you feel comfortable with.

Best secondary weapon for the Model L
The next part of your loadout requires you to equip a secondary weapon. Overall, the best secondary to equip is the Stryder .22 pistol, which is a strong semi-auto pistol.
However, seeing as the Stryder .22 is another late unlock, you can go with the 9mm PM and still do just as well with it. Or, you could opt for the Cigma 2B launcher to take out aerial scorestreaks for your team.
Best tactical and lethal equipment for the Model L
Next up, we can get our equipment for the Model L loadout. This will involve some personal preference, but we've listed our choices below:
- Tactical Equipment - Stim Shot
- Lethal Equipment - Semtex/Impact Grenade
This is a basic set up for your equipment, but it's an effective one. Stim Shots heal you with a press of a button and the Semtex/Impact Grenade are both strong and can kill players even if they have Flak Jacket equipped.
Best perks and wildcard for the Model L
Finally, we have arrived at the perks section of your loadout. This is also where we'll choose to use our wildcard, as Perk Greed is incredibly useful and offers an additional perk to use.
- Perk 1: Ninja
- Perk 2: Fast Hands
- Perk 3: Double Time
- Perk 4: Ghost/Flak Jacket/Tac Mask
- Wildcard: Perk Greed
Your Perk Greed perk really comes down to your playstyle. We have listed three different perks you can use depending on what you want to prioritize. The rest of the perks are fairly standard and will help you navigate the map to the best of your ability.
That wraps up the best Model L loadout in Black Ops 6. For your next loadout, we recommend taking a look at the next best AR: the XM4.
