The odd LMG out, the GPMG-7 won’t be a weapon you’ll see often in BO6.

Whenever a Call of Duty title releases, there's always one weapon in each class that feels like the odd one out. In Black Ops 6's case, specifically for LMGs, it's the GPMG-7. Despite this, we've put together a loadout that sees this LMG challenge the best. Here's our GPMG-7 loadout in Black Ops 6.

How to unlock the GPMG-7

The GPMG-7 is unlocked at level 52. This means unless you use a prestige token, you'll be grinding a long time to unlock this LMG.

Honestly, I wouldn't blame you for skipping this weapon. With a long unlock time, plus some poor statistics in comparison to the PU-21 and the XMG, the GPMG-7 is definitely the odd one out.

Still committed to using this weapon? Here's a look at our ideal loadout for the GPMG-7 in Black Ops 6.

Attachments for the best GPMG-7 loadout in Black Ops 6

We're needing all the help we can get with the GPMG-7 — we're equipping the Gunfighter Wildcard, meaning eight attachments total:

  • Optic: Personal preference
  • Muzzle: Ported Compensator
  • Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  • Underbarrel: Precision Foregrip
  • Magazine: Extended Mag I
  • Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
  • Stock: Heavy Stock
  • Fire Mods: 7.62 NATO FMJ

We're boosting just about everything with the GPMG-7, particularly its damage, efficiency at range, and recoil control. The Ported Compensator and Precision Foregrip level out our vertical and horizontal recoil bonuses, while the Ergonomic Grip boosts our ADS and sprint to fire speeds.

We don't want to be running and gunning here — LMGs are ideally used from a still point and mounted. The Heavy Grip reduces the effects of flinch so we can keep the trigger down without the negative effects of flinch.

We're rounding out with the FMJ fire mod for wall penetration and the first Extended Mag as you'll chew through the base 50 rounds very quickly. Pick an optic you like!

Best secondary weapon for the GPMG-7

Nothing too fancy for our secondary weapon! Any pistol works great here with a focus on draw speed as you'll find yourself needing it when reloading or in a pinch.

We recommend the Grekhova for its automatic fire, allowing you to get multiple rounds off at close range.

Lethal and Tactical equipment to use

Again, we're playing the support game and capturing objectives, so we're leaning into location-based equipment here.

  • Lethal: Semtex
  • Tactical: Smoke Grenade
  • Field Upgrade: Trophy System

Smoke Grenades are all the rage in Domination and Hardpoint as they blanket a location in thick smoke. Without thermal, they're perfect for "walling" off a site and capturing a point.

The classic Semtex is our lethal pick, while we're opting for the Trophy System as my Field Upgrade. Combined with the smoke, the Trophy System all but forces enemies to take you on lest you capture the point.

Best perks and Wildcard for this GPMG-7 loadout in Black Ops 6

Objectives are key, and we'll be rewarded well for capturing points or sites with the Strategist perk specialty. To unlock this, here's a look at the perks we're using for this GPMG-7 loadout.

  • Perk 1: Flak Jacket
  • Perk 2: Dispatcher
  • Perk 3: Gearhead
  • Wildcard: Gunfighter

Flak Jacket is useful when you don't have a Trophy System up and running. Dispatcher allows you to score extra points for destroying enemy equipment, which you'll be able to see with the Strategist upgrade.

We've gone with Gearhead for the last pick. This allows for a very quick recharge for your Trophy System. You can even hold two at once!
