The C9 is the default SMG in Black Ops 6, but it just might be the best option with the proper loadout.

By default, every player in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 has the C9 unlocked in the submachine gun category. It's among the first weapons you have unlocked when you first boot up the game. While you might want to use guns that have a higher unlock over the C9, the SMG is actually one of the best weapons in Black Ops 6.

In the multiplayer beta, the Jackal PDW was the best SMG by a wide margin. However, the Jackal has been nerfed and the C9 was buffed during that period. At launch, with these changes in effect, the C9 is easily the better weapon and perhaps the best gun in its class. As always, though, the C9 is only as good as its strongest loadout in Black Ops 6.

As previously mentioned, the C9 is unlocked right at level one. Once you unlock the ability to customize loadouts at level four, you can equip the C9 from the loadouts menu. You need to view the submachine gun tab when you go to select a weapon and then choose the C9 from there.

You'll start at level one with the weapon, so it'll take some time before you're able to throw attachments on it.

Attachments for best C9 loadout in Black Ops 6 multiplayer

Along with the XM4, which is also unlocked by default, the C9 has been dominating the early stages of BO6. While the SMG is certainly strong without any attachments, it can absolutely incredible with the right set of attachments, which we have listed below:

  1. Muzzle: Muzzle Brake
  2. Barrel: Reinforced Barrel
  3. Rear Grip: Ergonomic Grip
  4. Stock: No Stock
  5. Fire Mods: Recoil Springs

This C9 loadout accomplishes everything you want it to when it comes to an SMG. You have sharp mobility boosts along with improvements in both firepower and accuracy.

Starting out the loadout is the Muzzle Brake, which drastically improves vertical recoil control. Then, the Recoil Springs fire mod adds to that vertical recoil control as well as increases horizontal recoil control.

Next, the Reinforced Barrel is the best barrel in Black Ops 6 and you should run it on most weapons. It massively improves damage range and bullet velocity, two areas the C9 needs some help.

Finally, the last two attachments both increase the mobility and handling of the C9. The Ergonomic Grip and No Stock attachments improve dive to fire speed, sprint to fire speed, movement speed, and aim down sights speed.

Moving on in your loadout, your next task is to select the proper secondary weapon. Starting out, the best option by far is the 9mm PM pistol, which is also unlocked by default. This semi-auto pistol is fantastic at all ranges.

As you progress in Black Ops 6, you can equip stronger pistols, such as the Stryder .22 or Grekhova, with the latter being fully-automatic.

Once you have a secondary weapon equipped, it's time to select a piece of lethal and tactical equipment. You can find our recommendations listed below:

  1. Tactical Equipment - Stim Shot
  2. Lethal Equipment - Semtex

The Stim Shot is unlocked at level 30 but it's incredibly worth it to equip, offering free healing with the single tap of a button. The Semtex is the best lethal in Black Ops 6 but you can swap it out depending on your preferences.

You can also choose to equip the Tactical Expert wildcard at level 17, which gives you three tacticals at the start of every life. Eventually, you want to swap your wildcard for something else, as you'll see below.

Best perks and wildcard for the C9

At long last, your final decision when making a loadout for the C9 is to equip a set of perks and a wildcard. Your gameplay style might require some different perks than the ones you see below, but we have a solid baseline set of perks that can be used by anyone:

  1. Perk 1: Ninja
  2. Perk 2: Fast Hands
  3. Perk 3: Double Time
  4. Perk 4: Flak Jacket/Ghost
  5. Wildcard: Perk Greed

This is a perfect set of perks to run for any playstyle, but Perk Greed does take a while to unlock (level 54) so we recommend to use your first Prestige Token on it when you prestige initially.

And that wraps up the complete C9 loadout in Black Ops 6. Once that's done, you can check out how to complete all the Dark Ops challenges in multiplayer so you can unlock some sweet and rare calling cards while using the C9.
