Sapadal has an enticing offer for you.
After spending some time in Emerald Stair, you'll reach a point in Avowed where you get close to learning more about the Dreamscourge. Your new companion Giatta has learned what she needs to do in order to understand the plague more, and you travel with her to a large Adra Pillar. As you're the godlike, though, you interact with the pillar and immediately see something you've never seen before.
The Adra Pillar shows you Sapadal, the god you made you a godlike. Sapadal goes through their history and how they're trapped somewhere in the Living Lands. They task you with freeing them in exchange for their help in stopping the Dreamscourge. Before you leave them, however, Sapadal offers you a choice to either accept or reject a mysterious power.
So, the big question is should you accept or reject Sapadal's power in Avowed? We'll go through both scenarios in the guide below.
Accepting Sapadal's Power in Avowed
Naturally, you're going to want to accept the power, as it could mean great things for your character. If you decide to take the power, you will immediately receive a new Godlike Ability called the "Thorn of Sapadal." This ability has the following description:
"Fires a thorn of energy that passes through multiple enemies, causing damage on impact and momentarily rooting them in place."

Godlike Abilities can only be unlocked through special circumstances, so it's not often you get to use one in Avowed. Thorn of Sapadal is quite a powerful ability that can be used against small and large enemies. It allows you to catch your breath if you're low on health or essence and helps whittle down an enemy's HP.
If you choose to accept Sapadal's power, you'll receive the ability, and nothing more will happen.

Rejecting Sapadal's Power in Avowed

On the other hand, if you choose to reject Sapadal's power, the god will become angry with you. However, they don't do anything aside from scolding you for not taking the free power that they're offering.
You gain nothing from rejecting the power, as you lose out on the Thorn of Sapadal ability which you can't unlock otherwise in Avowed. So, it's highly recommended to take the power so you can use the ability, but it's also not gameplay-altering if you reject the power either.
