Where to find Herbs in Atomfall

There are dozens of crafting recipes you can learn in Atomfall and all of them are useful to your survival in the Quarantine Zone. However, the recipes that you'll utilize the most are of the medicine variety, as these heal you, reduce incoming damage, or give you a buff to some type of resistance. For most of these recipes in Atomfall, you need Herbs to be able to craft them.

Herbs aren't the rarest resource in Atomfall, but you won't come across them too often during your playthrough. They can be looted just like any other plant, but if you don't know what an herb looks like in 1950s England, then you could miss it entirely.

To make sure that doesn't happen to you, here's where you can find some Herbs in Atomfall.

For starters, Herbs look like bright purple plants and they're commonly found growing in dirt or grass on the ground. You can also find them growing in lifted pots or gardening boxes all across the various maps in Atomfall.

Unfortunately, the starting map of Slatten Dale doesn't seem to grow many Herbs. I wasn't able to find the purple plant until I stumbled into the Casterfell Woods map of the game, and even then they were fairly scarce.

If you're looking for a specific spot with Herbs, you can visit the Greenhouse in the northeastern part of Casterfell Woods. Look at the map screenshot below to see exactly where to go.

There are several Herbs growing all around the Greenhouse, so you should be able to pick up a few and make some medicine in the crafting menu. Of course, a few Herbs won't be enough to sustain you in Atomfall, as the world is extremely unforgiving.

To find more Herbs, I recommend looking all around the Skethermoor map. It's here where I was able to loot dozens of Herbs just scattered across the entire region. For a large cluster of Herbs, I suggest heading to the northern part of Skethermoor and going to the Brinsop Manor location. A maze surrounds the manor itself, but you can find several Herbs outside of the maze in various gardening areas.

Outside of Brinsop Manor, just walk around the grassy parts of Skethermoor and visit every location you find. You're sure to find all the Herbs you need to make whatever medicine is available in your crafting menu. Of course, to craft more recipes, you need to loot them from various locations around Atomfall or purchase them from traders.
