The legendary AD Carry will be on the hunt for a new team for the second time in as many years. According to reports Vitality showed interest but G2 are not interested.

While teams are getting ready for the 2021 World Championship, it seems G2 Esports will be on the hunt for a new ADC. According to a report by Dot Esports, G2 and Martin "Rekkles" Larsson will be parting ways after just one season. Rekkles joined the historic side on a free transfer for the 2021 season after his contract with Fnatic had expired.

According to the article, G2 Esports are now in the process of selling his contract which expires in 2023. The move is a surprising one to say the least given the player's brand and his rich pedigree. G2 Esports failed to live up to the heights of their previous rosters as they were unable to win either split and compete internationally. Over the past couple of weeks G2 reportedly informed its players and staff that Rekkles would be departing.

We still don't know why Rekkles is leaving G2 esports, but according to Dotesports' Pablo, there was friction within the team. With Jankos and Caps not wanting to play with Rekkles, there was no other option but to part ways with the ADC.

Rekkles is one of the most decorated players in Western League of Legends history and will go down as one of the all time greats. Over the course of his career, Rekkles has accumulated many accolades, including four championships, four MVP's and multiple international appearances including a World Championship final.

Where will Rekkles go next?

At the moment the biggest question is where will Rekkles end up. In many interviews in the past Rekkles has always entertained the idea of playing in China, though it is unclear how likely it would be for that move to materialize. Therefore staying in Europe or moving to North America could be the play for Rekkles. As reported by Dot Esports earlier in the month, G2 is currently holding mass trials with several European bottom laners.

Another report suggests this is one of many changes that will occur over the next couple of months for G2. Wunder, Mikyx and Grabbz are expected to leave the organization with their contracts up on the market. G2 is expected to rebuild around Caps, who re-signed until 2023 and LEC veteran Jankos.
