Ball State (#1) vs Akron Zips (#5)

From missing out on the playoffs last year to being this year’s top seed. Ball State have become a powerhouse in just one year as they look to cap off the truly perfect season. With 14 matches behind them they have only lost 2 maps throughout the entire season.

Round one saw Akron get their revenge on last year’s championship matchup in a heavyweight 5 round win over Buffalo. Not only was that win personal for Akron they saw themselves be the only lower seed to move on past the quarterfinals. Ball State and AKron kick off the action for the weekend at 12 pm ET on 12/2.

Northeastern (#2) vs Kent State (#3)

Two 11-2 Powerhouses square off on the other side of the bracket in a Fall 2022 quarter final rematch. Last year it was a clear Northeastern victory as they swept Kent State under the rug 3-0. However Kent State's team this year is far from what it was last year. KSU improved from 8-5 in 2022 to 11-2 which includes statement wins over the likes of Akron and Buffalo.

The Huskies still remained in control of the matchup as they took down Kent in dominant fashion winning 13-5 & 13-2 to sweep. KSU will need to find an X-factor in this matchup and maybe playing in a LAN environment.

Catch all the action beginning on Saturday at Noon as Ball State and Akron face off on the ESC Twitch Channel.
