100 Thieves announces a video game, dubbed Project X, is now in production with former EA Sports Executive Producer helming the development.
California-based esports and apparel brand 100 Thieves are making a video game. Today, the organization’s CEO and COO – Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag and John Robinson – appeared in a video on Twitter for the official announcement. Dubbed 100 Thieves Project X, Haag, and Robinson revealed that the game’s development would encompass input from 100 Thieves’ creators, competitors, and the community.
While Robinson admitted creating a video game is a challenging task, doing so alongside those who will play the game is a recipe for success. Here’s everything we know thus far about 100 Thieves Project X.
What is Project X?
The two 100 Thieves higher-ups preached transparency in their Project X announcement video. Haag and Robinson spoke in length about their opinions, mainly about what makes a video game great. Eventually, the two concluded that creating a game alongside the organization’s representatives and fanbase would produce an excellent overall product.
100 Thieves recently welcomed a new Chief Product Officer – Peter Hawley – to help design Project X. Hawley possesses a decorated history in the gaming industry, having worked on Burnout Paradise, LittleBigPlanet, Fable and Killzone. Of late, Hawley worked as a CEO and CPO under Telltale Games and Mythical Games, respectively. He brings a wealth of knowledge and years of production to the 100 Thieves video game development.
What is the genre and concept of 100 Thieves Project X?
Haag and Robinson did not reveal much about the game outside of the project’s existence. They would not disclose precise Project X’s genre and concept details. However, Haag indicated that the team behind Project X has more in mind that they are not willing to disclose.
Robinson plugged the game’s Twitter account and developer blog, which people can follow for more updates. Furthermore, 100 Thieves is actively recruiting more people to work on the title.
