Teams Toronto Defiant and Spacestation Gaming have won the Overwatch Champions Series (OWCS) Stage 2 Main Event! While Toronto Defiant came out on top for North America (NA), Spacestation Gaming represented the best of the best in the Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. Toronto Defiant at OWCS 2024 Stage 2
Toronto Defiant players won the OWCS NA Stage 2 Main Event. After duking it out against Citrus Nation, Students of the Game, and M80, the NA team earned the lion's share of the $75,000 USD prize pool. With this victory in the bag, Toronto Defiant qualified to the 2024 OWCS Dallas Major plus OWCS NA Stage 3 Group Stage. This win followed the team's previous success at the OWCS NA Stage 1 Main Event back in March 2024.

After sweeping Citrus Nation 3-0 in the quarterfinals, Toronto Defiant players continued their win streak by going 3-0 against Students of the Game in the semifinals. When the final arrived in the upper bracket, Toronto Defiant got knocked down 1-3 against M80. However, Toronto Defiant lived up to their namesake by climbing their way back to the top after defeating Students of the Game in the elimination bracket. When it came down to the grand final, Toronto Defiant players fought their revenge match against M80 and won 4-1!
After the battle, Toronto Defiant head coach Rupal "Rupal" Zaman congratulated his team and talked about the difference between securing the gold and silver. He emphasized the ability to stay calm and bounce back.
"The difference between 1st place and 2nd place is performing when it matters most and that's what we did today," Rupal wrote on X. "Proud of the team for bouncing back and staying calm. Looking forward to playing the other regions in Dallas."
Spacestation Gaming at OWCS 2024 Stage 2
Over in the EMEA region, Spacestation Gaming also won the bulk of the $75,000 USD prize pool. Much like Toronto Defiant, the team qualified to the next stage plus the OWCS Dallas Major 2024.

To reach top, Spacestation Gaming faced off against Team Peps in the quarterfinals and went 3-0 before sweeping Peace and Love in the semifinals. Next, the team earned a score of 3-1 against ENCE in the final. This moved the latter team into the lower bracket, but ENCE rose back up for a rematch in the grand final. However, it was to no avail as Spacestation Gaming went 4-3 and won the OWCS 2024 EMEA Stage 2 Main Event.
"Unreal series from the boys," Spacestation Gaming assistant coach Suji stated on social media after his team claimed victory. "Could not be prouder."
